About
the Greenfield Medical Center
GAMC has a 90-year history of serving a farming community some 30 miles south
of Columbus, Ohio. When the Adena Health System bought the facility their promise
was to provide quality care to the farming residents of Highland and Fayette
counties. That promise included greater access to the latest equipment and
technology,
as well as to highly trained physicians.
Their
Need
To attract highly trained and enthusiastic doctors to the rural setting Adena
felt
they had to compliment the hospital facility with a modern doctor’s clinic
that
could be modified over time to suit changing practices and community needs.
They
also wanted a facility that would aesthetically compliment their existing facility
and
be available very quickly.
The
Whitley
Solution
Time was the critical factor. Within four months of the first discussion
doctors were
operating inside a new facility. Not only was the clinic designed to facilitate
modern
medical practices and expectations, but its exterior
also matched the existing hospital. The stucco
walls and a ribbon of windows gave the building
the type of contemporary look needed to attracted
skilled, young professionals to a rural setting.
There were a couple of bonuses: an existing partial
foundation was expanded to give the clinic almost
100 percent more space, and the project came in
under budget. |
