About Plainview Hospital
Plainview MRI is part of Plainview Hospital, which is part of the North Shore University Hospital system. With more than a 15 hospitals, NSUH is the leading healthcare system on Long Island and is very highly respected throughout the northeast.

Their Need
Plainview Hospital did not have an MRI on site and needed to send patients to various other hospitals in their system. Consequently, they were losing business to competitors and to the other hospitals in their NSUH network. Naturally, they wanted something that would solve that problem, as well as conforming to the style of their main building, being available in a very short period of time and maintaining their patient friendly reputation.

The Whitley Solution
Whitley, in conjunction with Axis Modular Systems Director John Buongiorno, offered a reputation for many successful MRI additions, and we able to promise a building within Plainview’s short five-month time frame. Axis was also able to provide Plainview with a design that met their exacting technical needs and with a look that complimented their existing facility. The design featured a number of elements that promoted patient comfort, as well. The two module, 1,900 square foot facility was completed in five months. While the buildings were constructed in Indiana, the MR was lowered through an engineered roof slot and connected on site. The building operates to “rave reviews” and has solved all of Plainview’s problems.
