About
Bainbridge School
Bainbridge School District is located on an island in the middle of Puget
Sound.
The island is home to many of the area’s most prominent and wealthiest
individuals.
The school district operates a high school, a middle school and three
elementary schools with a population of approximately 2,500 students.
Their
Need
Bainbridge simply needed a new administration building and needed it on deadline.
The old facility had been built circa-WWII and was a deteriorating relic.
The plan was to build the new administration facility on the same "footprint” as
the existing building, due to building moratorium issues. Not only would the
timeline be tight, but the budget was restrictive, as well.
The
Whitley
Solution
Modular was the only solution, especially given the very tight timeline.
School
would have to open, the administrative building would have to be fully functioning,
and the complex would have to exude, reflecting the image of the area.
All of Bainbridge’s needs were satisfied in under 110 days by our factory
in the
Seattle area. There was no delay from demolition and site preparation. Construction
of building modules started before the site was ready, an impossibility
with conventional construction. The
5,000sf building was open on time, met
budget and was heralded as a smart
choice by local leadership. |
