J.A.G. Chooses Whitley

They are known for making critical decisions, so the JAG choice of Whitley Evergreen speaks volumes. The Whitley building shown below at Camp Murray near Seattle provides the Army National Guard’s legal arm, the Judge Advocate General staff, with plenty of room for hearings, meetings, interviews and storage.
The building, according to sales representative, Breton Betz of Williams Scotsman’s Seattle office, “was designed to forecast the look of the new post.” Numerous buildings will replace the old offices and they will all imitate the Whitley design, he said. “Camp Murray leadership wanted something that looked traditional and attractive… within a tightening budget” The split stone wainscoting, the radius top windows and the stucco exterior not only look great, but they work well in the damp western Washington climate. The only glitch occurred when the county building department told the National Guard they had to change the site for the building. But Breton did the leg work for the JAG and the problem was resolved. For those veterans among us who remember drafty Quonset huts this building is both beautiful and comfortable, and now passes muster with both the JAG and the local building commissioners.
