Breaking the Modular Stigma
|
Over the years, prefabricated buildings have obtained the stigma of being unsightly, substandard, and out-dated. When the term ‘modular’ is mentioned, most people envision the typical construction trailer; however, modern modular construction can be used for any building design, in any location.
Whitley Manufacturing has partnered with several renowned design firms such as Perkins + Will, Newman Architecture, Design Collaborative, and Grinsfelder & Associates. The result has been state-of-the-art facilities that are at the forefront of modern design and construction.
Combining factory built modules with site built features yields the capability for stunning results, in a fraction of the time and cost as conventional construction.
Not only is modular design contemporary, it is inherently sustainable in its nature. Achieving LEED accreditation is much easier when the majority of the building can be assembled in a climate controlled facility under strict planning and supervision. Designing with modular construction is not only financially responsible, it’s also environmentally responsible.
