Norwell High School serves most of northern Wells County in northeastern

located near the affluent community of Bluffton and is surrounded by highly
productive small farming communities.
Building includes:
- broadcasting rooms - rooftop camera deck
The
Challenge
Demand + Time
Norwell has a quickly growing sports program which means more participation, more news coverage and a need for more space. Their bleachers and press box were relics of a previous era at the school. Norwell’s previous press box was described as “home made,” with holes in walls and floor, rotting wood and drafty windows.
During the assessment process it was determined that replacement would be less expensive and more beneficial than remodeling the deteriorating the old structure.
The
Solution
More Space + New Technology
A new press box was constructed that provide 30% more space and modern wiring for camera operators, laptops and sound systems. It was also fully insulated for comfort and constructed to keep out water and wind.
Windows were installed on both sides of the building to allow coverage of tennis, as well as football, and a fenced deck was created to give camera operators a better perspective.
