Archbishop McNicholas High School is a Catholic school located in Cincinnati, Ohio with a mission of providing a safe, nurturing, creative, and challenging campus where individuals grow in knowledge and faith. The High School needed to upgrade their aging athletic venue and facilities. This included new seating, steps, ramps, and a large custom press box to accommodate the local media, home and opposing coaching staffs, and provide filming platforms shielded from the elements.
To accommodate the school’s requests, Whitley Manufacturing designed and built a custom press box 12’-0” wide which is substantially more interior space than the standard 8’-0” wide press box. To provide dual function use, rear windows face the softball field, giving more return on their investment. The press box is entered on either end through the covered platforms which also serve as ‘camera decks’. The covering protects the equipment and operators from the weather. The press box interior has plenty of counter space and electrical service to comfortably accommodate a full media crew, coaches, coordinators, school officials and visitors.
