The Carolina Beach modular restroom had many limiting factors when it comes to construction. With hurricane winds and other brutal weather factors, the restroom needed to be constructed in a robust manner but also efficient in utilizing renewable energy from the solar panels.

Building includes:

- solar panels on roof
- battery for energy storage
- vault access
- SMS based vault alert system
- mens and womens dedicated bathroom units

The Challenge

The goal was to create a modular restroom building capable of withstanding the demanding climates of North Carolina. One of the significant challenges was to incorporate a remote alarm system within the structure, facilitating timely notifications for park personnel concerning essential vault maintenance.

Furthermore, Whitley navigated the intricate task of harmoniously integrating plumbing, electrical systems, and ADA-compliant features into the design. This comprehensive approach not only upheld Whitley's reputation for excellence but also streamlined the construction timeline and installation process, optimizing overall efficiency.

A standout feature of this endeavor was the complete offsite fabrication of the modular restroom. While this approach introduced logistical complexities, it highlighted Whitley's capacity to overcome the unique challenges associated with remote construction.

In summary, this project showcased Whitley's ability to address project-specific hurdles while upholding their commitment to innovation and top-notch quality.

The Solution

Drawing on Whitley's extensive 75+ years of experience in modular construction, the company successfully crafted a modular restroom building designed to endure the challenging climates of North Carolina. The structure features a remote alarm system to alert park personnel about necessary vault maintenance. Alongside these advancements, Whitley ensured the seamless integration of plumbing, electrical systems, and ADA-compliant features, optimizing both the construction timeline and installation process for maximum efficiency. This modular restroom was built 100% offsite.
